..:: Cyclocross at Richard's house ::..

We are proud to be hosting Humboldt's first ever (somewhat serious) cyclocross
race this
weekend!

We'll race this Sunday (Jan. 28) at 2pm at Richard Murphy's house. The course
is about a mile in
length and not very technical (but still fun enough for you
MTB folks).
We'll ride for 40 minutes and it will be very laid back-just for fun- race.

It will be a great chance for anyone to try out 'cross racing (The plan

is to have 2 'cross races in Jackson in fall '07). There's no charge to race and
there may even be a
few prizes. Mountain bikes are more than welcome!

To get to Richard's house take the 45 Bypass north to Humboldt- Take a left on
Carriage Ln. then a left on Woodgate- House # 1312

Call 512-1766 for more info about the race

Why are we having a cyclocross race this weekend when there is a cyclocross race both Saturday and Sunday in Columbia? It seems that if we waited a week it would help attendance.

Hey Tom,
We'll probably do another one or two in the next few weeks too. This was a spur of the moment thing because several of us were not going to be able to go to Columbia and Richard and Nason finished the course on his land this week so we were eager to try it out.

We are also hoping that a really low-key race will entice some "new to 'cross" riders to come out. We have preliminary approval to put on a couple of races in Jackson (at a very, very, nice venue)next fall so we'd like to get people hyped up.

Have a good race in Columbia and represent us well! Keep checking back for the next race.

Looking forward to having everyone out this sunday. It should be a fun time. We just got the course finished and are eager to get some people riding it and hear their feedback.

I know a lot of people are doing the Cyclocross races in Columbia this weekend. Don't worry we will have plenty more rides to come.

We can have as many races/rides out there as everyone wants!

Good Luck to Tom and everyone else in Columbia. Hope to see everyone else at my house on sunday.
